Even Better On A Great Sound System

Spend a buck or two and buy the blu-ray recording; phenomenal.

A music Revolution

Amazing, simply the most unique and splendid sound, from this two masterminds. this album opens a new spectrum in music, do not try to label this as metal, prog rock etc. It's dark, deep, wonderful......AMAZING!!!! is simply what music it's supposed to be, an expression from the soul. and in this case, expressions like this, are extraordinary, coming from talented musicians. This album will stand at the top of your favorites, if you just listen. Great, great, GREAT!!! album. excellent production, and a beautiful mix. Thank you for creating this revolution.

An astonishing yet strange work from two amazing musicians

Storm Corrosion is not Opeth. Storm Corrosion is not Porcupine Tree. Storm Corrosion is an almost Pink Floyd like forray into the dark progressive minds of Akerfeldt and Wilson. The tracks are all very atmospheric and have a depressing feel to them. I try not to compare this album to the former works of either artist and when viewed this way, it makes the album much more enjoyable. From the witch trial inspired "Drag Ropes" to the fantastic closer "Ljudet Innan" this album is 5 star material, though fans of either band may be divided.
My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that i would have like to hear more of Akerfeldt's voice throughout the album though is guitar work is instantly recognizeable throughout.

While the two have been admirers of each other's work and collaborators in the past, with Wilson producing some of Opeth's best albums (Blackwater Park, Deliverance, Damnation) and Åkerfeldt occasionally contributing guitar on Porcupine Tree albums, it wasn't until 2010 that the two were able to...
