Album Review

Greatest Hits is a 15-track compilation that features John Anderson's '90s hits for BNA Records, as well as selections from his '80s work for RCA Records. The result is a career-spanning compilation that touches on most of Anderson's best work, including hit singles like "Swingin'" and "Money in the Bank." Consequently, it's the best place to get acquainted with one of the trailblazing new traditionalists of the '80s.

The Greatest That Ever Was And Ever Will Be

John Anderson is without a doubt the greatest artist to ever live. I will fight anyone who disagrees, and I will most likely win. I say this because God will be on my side, because he also realises the greatness of hits such as "Seminole Wind" and "Swingin'". My wife and I actually danced to "I Fell In The Water" at our wedding. We consimated our marriage to the sweet sounds of "Long Hard Lesson Learned". When our first son was born, "Country 'Til I Die" was playing on a boombox in the hospital room. My wife and I requested that it be there. I can only hope that someone will put a John Anderson record on the turntable when I'm on my deathbed. This is music to live by.

Not original versions!!!

Not sure what an earlier reviewier was hearing but this does not contain all original versions of the songs. In particular, Black Sheep and Swingin' are horrible remakes. I bought this based on that and wasted my money. Will have to end up buying the earlier album with the original versions of these songs. I am very disappointed that iTunes does not specify in the listing that these are remakes because it does state that in some of the other John Anderson collections on iTunes but not this one. Please be warned if you want the original versions, don't buy this collection.

Best John Anderson around

If your going to purchase any John Anderson, this is the one. All songs are original, and the price is fantastic..

Neo-honky tonker John Anderson was born in Apopka, FL, in 1955 and grew up listening to rock & roll, until he discovered country music at age 15 through Merle Haggard. He moved to Nashville in the early '70s, showing up at his sister's house with no warning, and worked a variety of odd jobs (including one as a roofer for the Grand Ole Opry) while playing clubs at night. Eventually, all the hard work paid off with a contract for Warner Bros., and Anderson released his first single in 1978. His self-titled...
