EDITORS’ NOTES

Lord Huron is primarily the work of Michigan-native-gone-Cali Ben Schneider, who wrote and produced Strange Trails at the band’s Whispering Pines studio in Los Angeles. Initially conceived as a solo project, Lord Huron now benefits from the input of a backing trio. The sound is a mix of rustic rockers and haunted singer/songwriter–styled excursions. The Sun Records vibe of “Until the Night Turns” recalls the Memphis spirit, while “Dead Man’s Hand” feels like a tribute of sorts to Steve Earle and honest country music, despite never leaning on the usual country clichés. “Frozen Pines” is a sublime race against time.

Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics.

No description will get the job done.

Lonesome Dreams was the greatest album I have ever listened to in my life. It awoke the adventurer in me and really changed the way I listen to music.

Strange Trails continues on that magic. Judging off Fool for Love, we are in for the greatest adventure of our life. Can't wait to see where the trails take us.

Strange Trails

Impossibly beautiful music that feels like a really good novel.

"Strange" can be a good thing

Lonesome Dreams was a good debut effort, but I found myself only enjoying the first half of the album.

Strange Trails is enjoyable from start to finish. I have no urge to skip any song. I find myself tapping my fingers to many songs.

This is mysterious, creative, and relevant work.

Nicely done.
