if you don't know the beatles buy this now

in fact, what you should buy is the $150 box set, you will never, ever regret that. no other band has displayed more versatility--and absolute lyrical and melodic ingenuity.

About Freakin' Time!!!!!

What else is there to say? Finally, the most influential band in history had come to iTunes. The imagination and creativity has been un-matched since. With all of the "System of a -Disturbed-Nikel-Puddle" crap being produced these days, it's nice to go back and listen to REAL musicians, not some over-produced song factory BS. If you love music, if you truly love it and want to hear real music and be inspired, listen to the Beatles.

I Love This Album. When I Think of The Beatles . . .

I think of this album. I played this record so often back in the 80s, this is the sequence these songs go in my mind. I automatically expect "I Am The Walrus" to follow "All You Need is Love". In my mind, "Fool on the Hill" will forever be followed by "Magical Mystery Tour".

This is a Best Of the Best Of, and if you got no other Beatles album, I'd have to tell you to get Sergeant Pepper's. But if you only got two, I'd say Sergeant Peppers and this one. Some of the best of the best of the Beatles.

Just listening to it now, I'm nostalgic. I can see myself programming on my TRS-80 Color Computer or hitting the dial-up BBSes (or playing Original Adventure on a time-share system!) while listening to this album. But I actually kind of actually miss the crackle-and-pop of the vinyl--that's what it'd take to make this particular listening experience 100% authentic for me.

I know it's uncool for (one of) my favorite albums to be a Best Of. But it is. Octopus Garden? My Guitar Gently Weeps? Across the Universe? Let it Be? Come Together? This album is bursting with Beatles-filled goodness.

Sigh. I'm going to go an feel old now. :)

Biografía

Fecha de formación: Liverpool, England, 1957

Género: Rock

Años de actividad: '60s

So much has been said and written about the Beatles — and their story is so mythic in its sweep — that it's difficult to summarize their career without restating clichés that have already been digested by tens of millions of rock fans. To start with the obvious, they were the greatest and most influential act of the rock era, and introduced more innovations into popular music than any other rock band of the 20th century. Moreover, they were among the few artists of any discipline that...
