13 Songs, 41 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Lil Baby’s third project of 2018, Street Gossip caps off a year most artists of his stature would die for. He kicked in the door with Harder Than Ever, establishing himself as one of the most beloved young voices in Atlanta while bolstering the king-making reputation of his Quality Control label (Migos, Lil Yachty, Stefflon Don). The fall would bring the collaborative (and wonderfully cohesive) Drip Harder with Gunna, the only other artist in the conversation if Atlanta were to give out a rap Rookie of the Year award. Street Gossip, then, is both a victory lap and a victory in itself, an urgent and also worthy addition to Lil Baby’s catalog in a moment when he could very well be resting on his laurels. The album features longtime Atlanta heroes 2Chainz, Young Thug, and Gucci Mane (twice) along with Gunna, Offset, and Meek Mill, all of whom show out, tipping their hats to the man of the hour.

Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics. Mastered for iTunes

Maybe the problem is that iTunes and other sources are labeling this hip-hop/ rap. This is not by any means. We need to create a new genre for this trash so we can stop the cycle
