beautiful and haunting music.

Daring to go where the Kronos would never go, the Arditti quartet unearth rare and georgous works from the german composer Ruzicka. This is new music at it's finest. These well crafted works a augmented with the addition of Dietrich Fisher-Diescau. His voice alone reciting the contents of a loaf of bread would be enough to enrapture even the most stone-hearted of persons. Bravo to all involved in the process. This is top 100 Billboard material. We will all be singing these pieces 50 years from now.

Founded by violinist Irvine Arditti in 1974 while he was a student at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Arditti Quartet has established itself as one of the world's foremost chamber ensembles dedicated to contemporary music. Literally hundreds of new works have been written for the quartet, and the group has made it a priority to work closely with the composers it commissions.
