Customer Reviews

Somewhere between classical and electronic alternative, Charlotte has delivered what will probably become my personal fall and winter soundtrack. This album can be dark, cold, ethereal, surreal, and even weird at times, but is always, always honest. As soon as I hear Stromata I knew I'd want the whole album, and I'm glad I made the decision to download it. Even its weirder moments ("Pills", "Just Before Dawn") seem to fit. Definitely worth the ten bucks.

Charlotte Just Keeps Getting Better!

Charlotte's music is always complex, moving, and thought-provoking. This album is no exception. From the rich layers of the title song to the complex rhythms of The Dance, there is something here to please – and surprise – all of her fans. And for new listeners, Charlotte’s music offers that rare combination of accessibility while staying fresh after repeated listenings. There isn’t a weak track on this CD. Buy it!

Experimental Perfection

This album is amazing. it is sexy, sad, hopeful, angry, thoughtful: all that is charlotte martin. her most experimental work-- but its perfect. piano, synths, guitars, percussion-- cross all genres. This cd is a journey when listened to in its entirety and i HIGHLY recommend it. make sure to get the song Habit not included on the album in stores.... Get it.

Singer/songwriter Charlotte Martin got her start singing opera while attending Eastern Illinois University in the late '90s. She'd been playing piano since she was a little girl and her childhood was surrounded by music. While attending school, Martin experienced "real life," from living with her goth roommate and dealing with typical college-like drama to the tragic suicides of two close friends....
