Gone too soon...

Okay, I haven't actually bought this download--yet. I still have a number of BW's vinyl albums, though back in the day, I apparently overlooked a few, and thought I'd look on iTunes. I have never yet heard a BW Stevenson song I didn't like, though there are some I like better than others. Stevenson's heyday was at the cusp of the country rock era in the seventies, and for reasons I don't understand, he never hit the 'superstar' status, though there were many of that era that did that in my humble opinion were far less deserving. He was an excellent song writer, good guitar picker, and had a remarkable voice, with close, but not quite, the tonal range of Roy Orbison. I'm old enugh I remember seeing the newspaper article of his wife being comforted by Ray Wylie Hubbard at the funeral. Ah well, he's in good company...

Great vocals good music

BW has a great baratone voice, and this will not disappoiint anyone who has heard his music live or on his first 3 albums. Too bad he sold off all the rights to his songs before he tragiclally died at age 38. Wheather he is singing his own tunes or covering his favorites, he is a pleasure to listen to. Just compare his voice quality to Brooks and Dunne, and you will see his superiority. I just wish Itunes could sell some of the music on the first 3 albums.

There's nothing like his very first album.
