Parry Gripp's Going J-Pop?!
I am a huge Parry Gripp fan, as well as a huge fan of Japan. This is pretty funny, even if most of the pronounciation is a bit off.
Also, "Sumimasen" means "I do not know" or "I don't know"
"Hai" means "Yes"
And "Ohayougozaimasu" means "Good Morning"
I only listened to the preview, it's enjoyable and funny as well :) I didn't expect Parry to go into the Japanese language XD I think I might buy it.
Embarrassing for Japanese Speakers
To correct the glaring mistake in the last post, すみません (sumimasen) means "Sorry/Excuse me" and 知りません (shirimasen) means "I don't know."
As for the actual song, not only is the pronunciation more than a little off, but it also sounds like he is just reading random phrases from a phrase book in nonsensical order. I don't normally mind gibberish or strange lyrics, but I really can't enjoy a song that pretends to be "in Japanese" when it really is just a song with random Japanese phrases smashed into it. Catchy music aside, this is the only Parry Gripp song I can't listen to. In Japan, white people already have to beat the stereotype that they supposedly can't learn Japanese or speak it correctly, even when they can. This only feeds the stereotype. Luckily, few Japanese people know about Parry Gripp.
