iTunes Review

Considering the massive success of "Barefoot Blue Jean Night," both hit single and hit album, Jake Owen is clearly in demand. Not yet ready with a complete new album, he's released this EP and its tribute to summer, "Summer Jam," featuring Florida Georgia Line, a country music duo who opened for Owen and who wrote this admirable celebration to endless summer. (Note to Jake: you released this in September!) A less produced cover of Ben Harper's "Steal My Kisses" fits perfectly alongside these feel-good tunes that are given the full-on Owen approach of deep band sounds and vocals that stand proud and tall. Owen occupies that interesting spot in mainstream country that's very much influenced by classic rock with its wall of guitars and thrilling organ. "Pass A Beer" turns Jimmy Buffett into a young man's game.
