iTunes Editors’ Notes

Representing for Orange County, Calif., Kottonmouth Kings bring an eclectic sound that mixes rowdy hip-hop, SoCal pop-punk, RHCP-style funk rock, and reggae. They've released an astounding 18 albums since 1998 and maintain a huge cult following worldwide. While their music encompasses various genres, lyrically they pretty much stick to one topic. Hidden Stash 5 finds them digging in the vaults for older material that's either previously unreleased or hard to find; they also add new remixes, making it ideal for the hardcore Kottonmouth fan. Despite the repetitive subject matter, there are definitely some quality songs on here, most notably the Dre-influenced "Kalifornia (West Coast Remix)," the flute-propelled "Reefer Madness (Smoked Out Mix)," and the breezy feel-good anthem "Enjoy the Ride."
