iTunes Review

Earth, Wind & Fire are known for their chart-topping pop-R&B anthems. But when they hit the stage, a full-on funkathon explodes. Recorded in 1975 at gigs across eight U.S. cities, Gratitude launches to the sound of host Perry Jones introducing Maurice White's well-oiled machine. From there, the upbeat "Africano/Power" gets the party started right. Smooth respite comes from tender quiet-storm ballads "Devotion" and "Reasons," while a joyous, punchy take on "Celebrate" ends the night on a euphoric note.

Darn good music for the soul

My Mom had this LP when I was a teen and I used to play it after-school before she returned home from work. Going out on the balcony and pretending I was performing "live" for my entire neighborhood. Well, actually, I guess I was. At least lip-syncing and air guitar/drums. Anyway, I believe this is one of the best "live" albums ever recorded. R&B, Jazz, Soul, World, Rock, what-have-you. Purchase and enjoy. Support the arts!

The Gratitude Experience

I am among the true believers in the metaphysical, popular and entertainment value of the music by EWF. I use their music in my classes to teach as an educational professor, but I also use it for my personal therapy for dealing with life. Purchase and listen to Gratitude- you will never regret the purchase!
Five starts!

Earth, Wind & Fire were one of the most musically accomplished, critically acclaimed, and commercially popular funk bands of the '70s. Conceived by drummer, bandleader, songwriter, kalimba player, and occasional vocalist Maurice White, EWF's all-encompassing musical vision used funk as its foundation, but also incorporated jazz, smooth soul, gospel, pop, rock & roll, psychedelia, blues, folk, African music, and, later on, disco. Lead singer Philip Bailey gave EWF an extra dimension with his talent...
