Practically Perfect?

Here's what I have to say right now. Mary Poppins is an outstanding show that subtly touches on some family issues. The music is endearing and just done right so that it captures both the era of 1960s movie musicals with West End and Broadway styles. It's, in a way, more modern, which is nice. I do love Laura Michelle Kelly as Mary Poppins, the role she originaled in London. I know that there are versions of the songs with Ashley Brown circulating on Youtube somewhere, so if you're looking for that I'm sure it's possible to find them. Overall, I do appreciate how wonderful this musical is. The soundtrack does the show justice.

3 Words: Laura Michelle Kelly

Guys, yes Ashley Brown is absolutely amazing as Mary Poppins. But Laura Michelle Kelly IS the original stage Mary Poppins, and I personally think she portrays Mary Poppins PERFECTLY, in acting and singing. Her voice is amazing too.

Feed the Birds?

I know this isn’t the movie, and that you can’t expect it to be the same, you wouldn’t even want it to be the same, but Feed the Birds, Walt Disney’s favorite song, and arguably the best song in the film, is really lacking here, it lacks the serene quality that Julie Andrews brought to the role. Over all, though, this is a fantastic recording, I just couldn’t get past my favorite song getting a pretty bad rendition.
