Editors’ Notes

Corralling the most important tunes by an American institution isn't easy, but this collection comes pretty close to perfection. Celebrating a half-century of music, the 50-track 2012 anthology covers everything from early-'60s surf-rock anthems like "Surfin' Safari" to such baroque-pop masterpieces as "God Only Knows," and it runs all the way through to "That's Why God Made the Radio," the 2012 hit that marked the eagerly awaited reunion between the long-estranged Brian Wilson and Mike Love. Along the way, covers of Leadbelly's "Cotton Fields" and The Ronettes' "I Can Hear Music" serve as reminders that The Beach Boys were more eclectic than many realize.

Over 50 years of Summer

It's been over 50 years since Brian, Dennis, Carl, Al and Mike started out. Over the years we've lost Dennis and Carl, Brian's been fired twice maybe three times. New members have come and gone, and through it all we've been given many Summer songs and a Christmas album. The Beach Boys are one of the all-time greatest bands ever. So buy this and enjoy

I didn't know 17/50 songs on the album. My dad introduced me to the beach boys like one and a half years ago. If you watch chopped on food network, then Carnie Wilson was on it, that's right Brian Wilson's daughter.Plus she was a singer in that girl group with her other sister and i think another girl. My favorite is probably Mike Love. Even though I'm only twelve, I've found a love for REAL music. I thought that it was funny how Dennis didn't sing because he drank🍸 and smoked🚬 so much that he ruined his voice, and when tried singing a song everybody else was like, "ok...." I don't really like the 500 other people who are in the band, I wish that it was just Brian, Mike, and Al. I wish that Carl and Dennis were still alive! Dennis had to fall off a boat, and Brian died of cancer 😔😪. Well that's all I have to say, thanks for reading even though this was a long comment.

Buy this right now, really, right now!

i have spent a lot of time with the beach boys catalog and the beach boys songs, and created my own top 100 playlist of the top 100 beach boys songs of all time.
47 of the songs on this cd made my list, and including some new discoveries for me.

This is the best collection of beach boys songs, period.

outstanding collection and curation!

Beginning their career as the most popular surf band in the nation, the Beach Boys finally emerged by 1966 as America's preeminent pop group, the only act able to challenge (for a brief time) the overarching success of the Beatles with both mainstream listeners and the critical community. From their 1961 debut with the regional hit "Surfin," the three Wilson brothers -- Brian, Dennis, and Carl -- plus cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine constructed the most intricate, gorgeous harmonies ever heard...
