iTunes Review

Written in the months before founding member Benjamin Curtis tragically lost his battle with cancer in December 2013, SVIIB pulses with life from its opening track “Ablaze,” a stormy, upbeat pop gem radiating late-’80s shoegaze vibes. Singer Alejandra Deheza’s breathy vocals are soaked in reverb, pulling together the album’s dense dreamscapes on the airy “Open Your Eyes” and the time-melting “Confusion.” The celebratory, slow-burn ascent of “This Is Our Time” caps it all off on a high note as its synths fade into the haze.
