Michael McKean CEO/Pres. Static Free Horizons Music

How this CD did not garnish a curious eye of the music world, defines the mousse in our diehard vertical hair of the 80's, and even worse, the heart of 70's rock and roll. Note: those of you not alive in those Days & Nights.....Tommy Shaw was part of the majestic talent of the super-group called "Styx". When I heard that this CD had covers of "Sweet Emotion", "Money" and "Open Arms", my expectations were dulled by that voice in my musicians soul, that screamed "ICE BERG AHEAD". For many remakes, where they the depths of the ocean "Really?!?!". But Shaw shows that he has the magic still, and his voice and guitar are sharp as they were in the heyday of "Real" unadulterated Rock......the kind that did not need all the software too, which is mandated in almost every CD of todays artists to conceal the flaws almost every musician has.......but, not to fear, this CD is a magic carpet ride....with out the inhaling and hold ones breath or nose. It is respectful of the originators, BUT with Shaw's unrestricted four barrel music carburetor at full throttle, insuring the 7 song engine ran at a full 500+ hp without a miss in any of it's cylinders. "True-Ly" great stuff, and to Mr. Shaw..... "Please keep the rock and roll.... ALIVE!!!! Respectfully submitted Michael McKeana

Born on September 11, 1953, in Montgomery, Alabama, Shaw's interest in music began at a young age and he spent years playing in local bands. He was still living in Montgomery when he was offered an audition to replace departed guitarist John Curulewski for the group's tour to support 1975's Equinox. By the time Styx released...
