Ignore the cheesy cover. This is superb stuff. Some amazing trading between Hubbard and Lew Tabackin. One of my favorite Freddie Hubbard albums, period. Doesn't break any ground, but the playing is ferocious.

Bought the CD in 1985-6 and still listen to it in 2010!

Awesome, awesome playing. The guy had unbelievable technique AND musicianship - the real thing. Don't mistake his creativity for gimmicks - he used none. Just a fabulous artist. Wannabe jazz trumpeters - this is how the instrument is supposed to be played. RIP Freddie the GREAT Hubbard.
