A Little Treasure of an Album

Simple is sometimes a bad word in describing music -- too many people mistake it for "simplistic" -- but the Pocketbooks are the perfect example of very good, simple music. The clever songwriting and gorgeous arrangements tend to just wash over you and make you say "Ahhh." It's all that makes Northern Soul great -- solid beats, grabby hooks and soulful singing. Great music.
