Shim Sham Thank You Ma'am!

The Shimmies make want to put on my headphones and leave this world to find some beautiful place to get lost. The two front brothers, Sean and Jimmi, work in great unison as the band's lead vocals and guitars. Their song writing shows interpersonal emotions that a great artist would express. Their killer guitar effects, solos, and harmony have a great new sound, with an old style, that is very catchy. To me, they sound like a fusion of Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, and Weezer. The bass driven by Stephen, the youngest brother, gets me really pumped up. His bass drives make me want to lift weights or play basketball. "Stephen, I'm open! FEED ME THE ROCK!" The drummer Jack is extremely talented. I like a drummer who is not affraid to take those drums for a walk, instead of a lame "One-ie and a Two-ie." Reminds me of Jimmy Chamberline. I recommend The Shimmies to anyone, dosen't matter what music they are into. This is the Bees-Nees! The world must know The Shimmies.

The next Radiohead

This album is great, and I heard their new album (leaked) to all my beloved enemies, They're where Radiohead was circa The Bends and are starting to sound like what Radiohead would would probably sound like if they kept going in that direction. There are a lot of other obvious comparisons like Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, My Morning Jacket etc. but If you like early Radiohead check out this band. On this record Dirge, Swimming Without the Sharks, Without a Sound and July 4th are the one's you should test the waters with. On the next one check out Hey Judas, the title track and Marnie. Seriously though, they're all amazing.

You guys reek of AWESOMENESS!

I never get tired of listening to the Frogtown LP--indeed one of the best albums ever! Great job you guys and thank you for the music!
