iTunes Review

What started when Michael Angelakos self-recorded a Valentine’s Day EP as a gift for his girlfriend has now evolved into a Boston-based quintet with a thoroughly amazing sophomore album. “Take a Walk” picks up where Passion Pit’s praised 2009 debut, Manners, left off. “I’ll Be Alright” finds them at their most experimental, with hyper-edited cut-up arrangements tangling up and then unravelling to reveal an uplifting electro-pop standout.

Passion Pit can do no wrong!

I rarely buy full albums but with Passion Pit I always make an exception. I fell in love with Passion Pit the first time I heard Manners and my love keeps growing. They are just magical.

Constant Conversations.

A little dissapointing when compared to their previous effort. Constant Conversations is definitely their strongest effort here ( and perhaps "Take A Walk'). They've got a little bit of what "Fun." does here, its deeper, and more poppy. I prefer the chills and quietness of "I've Got Your Number" and "Sleepyhead." There was an art about their music before, now it just sounds a little overproduced. Honestly, their old stuff is some of the best music I've ever heard in my life. I cried over that stuff and quoted the lyrics all over. This new effort, a lot of it is forgettable, especially the second half of the album, save "it's not my fault, i'm not happy," which is probably one of the better tracks. In any case, happy they are doing well, and have new music. Big Fan. Just not as good as before.

Boston Swag!

Amazing album! Absolutely love take a walk!

Boston, Massachusetts-based Passion Pit began as a one-man project of singer and songwriter Michael Angelakos to produce a Valentine's Day gift for his girlfriend. The gift, an EP entitled Chunk of Change, soon wound up in the hands of friends and acquaintances, who were enthralled with the work. Eventually, Passion Pit became not only a vehicle for the romantic expressions of Angelakos' heart but a full-fledged band -- at least for live gigs -- and opened for a number of well-known artists, including...
