iTunes Review

Back in the mid-‘90s, Daryle Singletary seemed destined to duke it out with Tim McGraw for the top spot among male country singers. After his initial run of hits, though, the smooth-voiced Georgian seemed to lose his stride. If Rockin’ In the Country isn’t a full-fledged comeback, it does reaffirm this affable artist’s virtues. His warm and resonant style works best with themes of everyday love and heartache. Singletary musters up a George Jones-like sense of domestic tragedy in “How Can I Believe in You” and “Real Estate Hands,” underscoring the tormented lines with well-placed baritone moves. He’s also good at lighter, sweeter fare like “That’s Why God Made Me” and “Background Noise,” and the rollicking “They Know How They Grow ‘Em” and the title song (featuring Charlie Daniels on fiddle) are credible stabs at radio-friendly upbeat tunes. Rock on, Daryle, but please keep the ballads coming.

Love the new album Rockin' In the Country

Great to hear that awesome voice again, never get let down by you and as always moved by your music! Thank you for your talent and keeping on. Adam Sells, Professional Rodeo Cowboy.

Bout Time!!

Glad to see 'ol Double Barrel Daryle back in the game. This is great record and I wish we could hear more music from guys like him and Rhett Akins. It really is a shame that REAL COUNTRY music like these guys play is pretty much not accepted on the radio anymore. Chalk another one up for the good ol' Georgia Boy!!!

Great work!

OMG..Love it...Love it...Love it... Daryle, you're the man, your voice never ceases to amaze me and you don't let us down. It is so great to see you with a new album my friend..... I can't even pick a favorite song, because every one is superb. Hope we will see you on the road promoting this fine record!!!

Neo-traditionalist singer Daryle Singletary was among the brightest new stars to arrive on the contemporary country scene of the mid-'90s, winning fans with his simple, honest songcraft and distinctively gravelly vocals. Born and raised in Cairo, GA, he grew up singing gospel alongside his cousins and brother, and while attending high school enrolled in a variety of vocal classes; after graduation, he worked at a tractor dealership before relocating to Nashville to pursue a career in music.
