New West is whats best in American music

Between this album and "Van Go", it boggles my mind as to why the BFs weren't better known. Blues, rockabilly, C & W all merge into an album that rocks your socks off. There is no weak song. This is/was no weak band. Sweat, blood and beer....Hail Hail to a high-octane brotherhood. To have seen the band live was an experience and this album is a treasure in time.

A Must own! One of the best Rock and Roll Bands ever

This version includes the "Glad and Greasy" ep. I never missed this band whenever they came through Denver in the late 80's and 90's. They were an incredible band. Tight, funny, and incredible entertaining. They are the essence of Rock&Roll. I highly recommend them and this album. If you have not heard of them before, this is a great place to start. I miss seeing them live. They were the best.

Awesome Band & Album!!

The Beat Farmers were one of the best bands to come out of San Diego in the 80's. Their live shows were comprable to none. There was nothing like big Country Dick Montana jumpinig up on your table, swilling his beer to and fro while belting out Happy Boy to the delight of the crowd. I partied with the band the night before this, their debut album, was released, at the Bacchanal in Clairemont Mesa, near Kearny Villa. We shared a bottle of Dom Perignon that my buddy Steve had bought for the band to celebrate the new album. I had all the boys in the band sign the cork to that bottle, which I still have to this day. Sadly this was also the last time I saw Country Dick Montana alive, as I was in the Navy and deployed overseas & he had passed away before I saw the band again years later.

Formed: 1983 in San Diego, CA

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '80s, '90s

The Beat Farmers enjoyed a cult following throughout the 1980s and early '90s until the untimely passing of lead singer/drummer/guitarist Country Dick Montana in November 1995. He was just 40, and he collapsed after a massive heart attack...
