iTunes Review

Difficult as it may be, imagine for a minute that Tapestry wasn’t one of the most successful albums in music history; that it wasn’t a defining touchstone for both the boomer generation and the singer/songwriter movement. Freed from all the baggage, Carole King’s second album still overflows with emotionally honest, subtly soulful singing; masterfully written tunes that blend pop, folk, and R&B; and warm, organic but seamless production. But it’s the unguarded intimacy of Tapestry we love most, particularly on highlights like “It’s Too Late” and “You’ve Got a Friend."

A brilliant Masterpiece

This album actually helped define a new decade. Carole influenced more artists then anyone else at that time. A shear genius. Every song moves your soul . Thank God she realized that she should perform her own masterpieces. Go get this album, put on headphones and shut the lights.. And shut off your iPhone.

Amazing album!!!

I own this album on vinyl and would have to say this is one of the best albums to come out of the 70's with hits like "You Got A Friend", "So Far Away", "Where You Lead", "I Feel The Earth Move", and "You Make Me Feel (like a natural woman)" I grew up listening to 90's music but still can appreciate this classic album. Carole King still to this day performs as well as she did in her prime if not better now! Do yourself s favor and get this album if you like even 1 song! You won't be disappointed!

Will have this forever. Young people check it out!

I have this on vinyl and CD. Even as a 15 year-old Black kid, I knew good music. I was so fortunate to grow up during this time period, because music like this and Joan Baez and Janis Joplin to go along with Motown and the Beatles, & Jimi Hendrix is timeless and priceless.

While the landmark Tapestry album earned her superstar status, singer/songwriter Carole King had already firmly established herself as one of pop music's most gifted and successful composers, with work recorded by everyone from the Beatles to Aretha Franklin. Born Carole Klein on February 9, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York, she began playing piano at the age of four, and formed her first band, the vocal quartet the Co-Sines, while in high school.
