Gets in your head like Mozart, sticks like Glue!

Featuring the breath-taking beauty of 'The Lamb' (played at Princess Diana's Funeral), this album really underlines how Tavener is an extraordinary transcriber of emotion into music. Dredging deep into the emotions of the listener, Tavener weaves sorrow, joy, despair and triumph into an odyssic story. Imagine Mozart's Requiem without the boundaries. Moving - to the point of addiction!

This recording

This music is fantastic, however this recording of "Ikon of Light" lacks. I first heard the now out of print recording that the Tallis Scholars did a few years back and it is completely superior. My advice would be to look for that recording and leave this one alone.

English conductor Harry Christophers was educated at the Canterbury Cathedral Choir School and Magdalen College, Oxford. He founded The Sixteen, the choral ensemble with their accompanying instrumental ensemble, in 1977.
