Re-recordings of great songs

I am not sure when these songs were re-recorded for this album, but do yourself a favor and get Walk Don't Run: All Time Greatest Hits. Don't get me wrong, still great songs done well, but there is just something missing from the original recordings. And to me it feels like energy. For example on this album Wipe Out just isn't as dynamic as the Ventures original version (and the manic laugh isn't a s good either) Not a bad album, but the other ones are better.

rarity: rerecording old hits -- and nailing it

Normally, you don't want to mess with the original. And I don't really like the packaging, which makes the buyer think he's getting the old stuff. But as long as your clear that these are re-recordings ... they're great. The songs are more polished, and have some great little flourishes. The collection of songs can't be found anywhere else, and the versions aren't so far from the originals. Amazingly, this collection works if you're a Ventures die-hard or a grom.

Great album. I dnt know what the guy was thinking who sed to buy "walk don't run." i'm not saying not to because it is still a great album but it is missing my favorite song "Pipeline." Its up to u but i say "Gold" is bettter.

Almost 40 Ventures' albums charted, and 17 hit the Top 40. And though the group's popularity in America virtually disappeared by the 1970s, their enormous contribution to pop culture was far from...
