Guitar Collection: Guitar Works, vol. 1 Giulio Regondi

This music is so well recorded, so flawlessly played, I had to buy it. The music iteself can be very dull if poorly played, but when played well, it soars. Segovia wouldn't record Giuliani, I recall, as something about the music was too formulaic or something. But Bream and others did well with Giuliani recording. Regondi offers a similar challenge to guitarists. Holmquist deserves praise for a job well done. I wish my entire repertoire of classical guitar were this well recorded!

Regondi....not Giuliani

the reviewer above me is right. This is an excellant recording....however the composer is "Giulio Regondi" and not "Mauro Giuliani" perhaps the Giulio confused him or something. Great recording...one of only two recordings of the entire set of ten etudes by Regondi (David Starobin is the other guy to record the complete etudes)
