10 Out Of 10

Listening to 10 Short Stories by C.L. Nash from start to finish in one sitting, is a legitimately moving experience.

Chuck Nash's latest offering continues his trend of delivering that rarest of breeds: an entire album of consistently strong songs. Each of Chuck's 10 Short Stories more than stand on their own; they stand confidently next to each other, intelligently sequenced to create a seamless whole that becomes more than the sum of its impressive parts.
A seemingly disconnected tome of tales that share a common psychological thread combine to create a truly engrossing audio chapter-play.

Chuck's relationship with his cast of characters reminds me at times of one Mr. Ogden Nash...one of witty, wry & wise wordplay, but with the added bonus of Chuck's uncanny knack for merry and melancholy melodies. These elements find good company with earnestly heartfelt, often aching vocals and spirited, compassionate performances from Chuck and the band (an impressive roster of expert, like-minded musicians including the inimitable Ken Nasta on percussion, the "Magician" Brian Homan on pedal steel and virtuoso Eric Brigmond on keyboards).

Tastefully produced by Chuck himself at his own Zoe Tribe studios, each story is clearly a labor of love. Mix Master Eric Sarafin (Tom Petty, Ben Harper, Willie Nelson, Lifehouse, Matt Nathanson and many more) graces the proceedings with the exquisite mixes these songs deserve, adding to the resonance inherent in each track.

Make no mistake however, any collection of Chuck's vignettes will have some victims, perhaps even Chuck himself at times. That very vulnerability is a virtue as his unguarded, naked approach to storytelling is at the heart of what make these perfectly crafted 10 Short Stories so endearing.

Very Good artist and person

The Album is awesome, I have met Chuck here in Jacksonville, one of the coolest guys
I've met. He plays for bars and places around Jax Beach. You should check it out on his facebook page.
