Nice melodies - new age with a jazzy side

I've been enjoying this album since it came out. What I especially like about this album is that the songs have such catchy melodies that'll stick in your head. I remember that lots of the New Age back in the late 80s tended to blend together and not have real strong melodies. Liz Story and George Winston were the exceptions, and then Jim Chappell, too. But where lots of New Age was very dreamy and kind of stream of consciousness back then, this album has some very bouncy songs. Especially check out Blue Racer, Free Again, Magic Sleigh Ride, and Otter Chase.

If you want some good acoustic piano, check out Chuck Leavell, or maybe Liz Story. Even Jim Brickman is better that Chappell. This album is very predictable and boring. I had the disc from a grage sale, and I sold it again after deleting it from my i-pond

He self-released his debut album, Tender Ritual, in 1986, selling over 12,000...
