Customer Reviews

Best theatrical music group on the scene today.

This group cannot be better. Everything they do is amazing. Their voices are all gold, and they harmonize amazingly. They use so many styles and influences that it's just stupid not to love at least something from this album. I look forward to great things from them. The lead single "Honeybee" is probably the most beautiful song I've heard in a few years. The harmonizing on that specific track is a quality of which hasn't been brought out in a group in awhile. The track "Me and My Baby (Saturday Night)" is just a smooth nice nice tune that has a lot of influence from some old pop tunes in it. You can hear a lot of those different influnces of all types of genres and and time periods. "Rex Marksley" has an old folky country feel to it while when you get to "Ju Ju Magic" you get a nice funk song taht you wouldn't expect and then "Prelude to a Dream" which sounds straight from broadway. This album really has something for everyone and showcases the amazing talent we've been looking for from a band.

So glad I found them!

I've never found a band I loved as much as these guys! They are the new sound people have been looking for in a music industry ruled by Pop. Truly fantastic! Add that to their theatricality and creative performances, you really have a one of a kind band! Honeybee is my favorite, but I have yet to hear one of their songs I didn't like!

To call them extremely talented, unique, quirky, and entertaining would not be doing them justice

Every so often I'll run across a new band that blows me away for various reasons - be it terrific songwriting, quirky humor, pure talent, or just because I've never heard anything like it before. For me, this is one of those bands. Steam Powered Giraffe is nearly indescribable. I found them by pure chance. I was looking at a steampunk wiki and found bands listed as "steampunk". Steam Powered Giraffe was the first one listed. I wasn't even aware steampunk was a music genre. I googled the band and came across "Honeybee" and was instantly hooked. Extremely awesome song! It even accompanied a video and these guys have some serious talent. They dress like robots, they act like robots, and they make music better than many bands out there today. I watched a few live videos by them, I listened to a few more songs, and that same day I found out about them I bought their two albums. And I cannot recommend them highly enough! There are no bands that I know of that are like these guys. One of the best bands to come out of nowhere in the last ten years. You would be doing yourself a great disservice to not at least check these guys out! I understand all bands are not for everyone, but listen to a few songs, there is no mistaking their talent. To think that only a week ago I found out about Steam Powered Giraffe and now I'm dying to see them in concert. Yes, they are that good.
