Editors’ Notes

Wale cuts a lone figure on his third long-player. The only features here come from a few R&B vocalists who match the production's soulful bent: Tiara Thomas assists on the melancholic, acoustic guitar–infused "Bad," while the lead single "LoveHate Thing" fuses a slinky Marvin Gaye sample with Sam Dew's trilling on the hook.

GIFTED, INDEED!

Wale is one of the few genuinely talented rappers in the industry today. His flow is beyond sick and his raps are always surprisingly meaningful. So needless to say, I know he won't disappoint on this latest album, especially seeing as how there's no Rick Ross to be found in sight on it (which is a great indicator of its quality alone). That being said, here's to "The Gifted," what is sure to be another impressive new release from the one and only Wale.

THANK GOD

With this and Born Sinner, rap has been rescued in one week.

WAY BETTER THAN YEEZUS❗
