Lilys Crowing Achievement

I embrace the full Lilys catalog and all Kurt Heasley, but this is the masterpiece. Buy this now.


A great album that would sound just as comfortable if released in the mid to late sixties.
Hints of the Kinks/Zombies style are abundant. Not just copyist of the style but make it their own sound.
Kurt Heasley sounds like Ray Davies on quite a few of the songs. Again, not copying Ray, Kurt just has a voice that sounds like Ray, and that's not a bad thing.
My favorite by them and the first one of theirs I ever purchased. This is the one that made me search out their back catalog and keep up with their current releases.

A Philadelphia native, Heasley and Lilys bowed with the 1991 single "February 14," a nod to My Bloody Valentine; while based in Washington, D.C., they recorded their 1992 debut LP, In the Presence of Nothing, an even greater testament to their shoegazing fetish.
