the title “Art of Noise” jumps right out!
Meerenai's second record Art of Noise again demonstrates her talents as a flutist, musician and producer. She shows how to pull together a very modern record with classical roots. The album is mostly done at Fantasy and the recording and mixing are top notch.
I found this record to be fun and unpredictable. The piano and flute are so good together in the first part of the record then it jumps into the gameboy movements. Crazy and unpredictable. The flute is paired perfectly - the title “Art of Noise” jumps right out.
Genre busting flutist!
I've already listened to this album about 4 times and each time I uncover more of the story. Meerenai Shim has compiled a recording that tells the composers' stories as much as her own through the pieces she chose to record for this 2nd CD. This is a "must buy" for any classical musician (or audience member) looking to find someone truly being innovative in today's industry.
Meerenai is a fantastic example of what the future of classical music looks like.
