Customer Reviews

dont judge a book by its cover

Ok enough bad reviews, call me partial, but i happen to know Lance and where he came from, and i love this song.I am a songwriter myself and i know more about country music history than the average bear, and as long as your memory goes back before the time of Kenny and Garth then you should understand just what this song is talking about. The artists who made country music so great didnt do it singin about life on the islands because that was jimmy buffetts job before he crossed over to exploit the naive younger generation who remain ignorant about real music.Heres a hint you wont find alot of great music in the top ten charts or radio playlists. So before you form an opinion get educated and listen to the lyrics a little closer. By the way this song predates 'some beach', and Blake Shelton didnt even write that song. Good show Lance Southern Ill is still in your corner.

I agree with Sonny P!

I am 100% on Sonny's team here. I am from the same town, and this song hits home big time. Yes, I have been to the beach. And I'm not rich. That isn't the point. And those of you who compare this to Some Beach, are you saying that because they both have Beach in the title? This sounds about as much like Some Beach as it does Baby Got Back. I see this crap a lot with Panic! at the Disco fans. Everybody complains because they sound exactly like Fall Out Boy. They don't sound EXACTLY like them, and this song sounds NOTHING like Some Beach. But even if they did sound alike, are you really that troubled by that? Can you not enjoy 2 different songs? I have several GB worth of songs on my iPod and if I was that closed minded I'm pretty sure my collection would be much slimmer. Anyway, getting back to the point, I, too know a decent amount about country music. Lance brings back the idea behind traditional country music, something Kenny Chesney knows absolutely nothing about. I don't mind Kenny, but if any of you have ever bothered to listen to a Merle Haggard or George Jones song, you will see what I'm talking about. Lance has found a way to bring that back and still keep with a more current style. I say good job, Lance!

Worth the wait!

I saw Lance Miller on the soul2soul tour and I've been waiting for this single to come out ever since. My only disappointment? That the whole album hasn't been released yet!
