Just good music

As a huge LNA fan, I am happy to say this album does not disappoint. The Beat Becomes a Sound remains true to the LNA spirit while exploring different themes. My personal favorites include My Awake, Sapphire, and Days. However, as with all LNA songs, the other songs will grow on me.

My Heart Slows Down

Late Night Alumni has always been somewhere between House and Lounge music. Some call it "Chill House" which I find very fitting. Listening to LNA is akin to sitting down by beach-side with a tropical drink in-hand enjoying the sights and sounds of relaxation (there's a very 'get-away' groove in this album) , or snuggling up by the fire under a warm blanket with a glass of wine--perhaps with a loved one, or solo like many of us do. Their past three albums were extraordinary and "The Beat Becomes a Sound" is no different, and with little doubt adds to the ensemble that LNA has become so loved for.

Whether you're working out in the gym, snuggling with someone precious, or flying solo -- Late Night Alumni's newest will embolden you, strengthen you, and allow you to brave those late nights like you've never done before (and MAYBE, just maybe, make you want to fall in love).

Put in your earphones, take a hike in the dark of night and listen beneath the stars. Now THAT is Late Night Alumni in a nutshell. You will NOT be disappointed. Becky Jean Williams's writing in this album is unmatched. She hits the spot, makes you FEEL the tough moments, the happiness, the longing with both her writing and her voice. "Sun Space" will make you long for the sun shine and if you're feeling a little bit stressed, "Summer Lies" will slow you down. If you're not at a beach, "Days" will make you want to be (badly), and if want a good House groove try "My Awake" and "Sapphire", of which the latter will blow you across the wall.

LNA knows how to keep it cool and simultaneously full of fun. John's strings will have you rising to the ceiling, Finn's moods will have you second-guessing, Becky's vocals and lyrics might have you crying and dancing (am I alone?) and of course, Ryan (AKA Kaskade)'s electronic drums and build-ups will QUITE literally have their way with you.

Fan of LNA? The Beat Becomes a Sound is a MUST. Just joining the Late Nighter crew of Alumni? THIS is a good place to start. Backtrack from here and you wlil never, EVER, regret it.

Enjoy.

Always Strikes a Chord in My Soul

I discovered LNA a few years ago when they were the background music to a Michelle Phan video. I was instantly entranced and found everything they did and was pleased that it all was beautiful music to me. I've kept up with every release and this one just keeps their beat going. Just take some time and enjoy the music as each 'beat becomes a sound' for the soul =)
