EDITORS’ NOTES

The Beginning is packed with electro-pop hallmarks — notably the deluge of propulsive dance beats swathed with Auto-Tuned vocals and synth pulses. Still, the crew remembers its B-boy roots, infusing several cuts with old-school flavor and swagger — including "Light Up the Night," which samples Slick Rick's golden-era classic "Children's Story," and "Fashion Beats," which finds Fergie flaunting a cool-as-ice, Deborah Harry–inspired flow. The Peas have become synonymous with a futuristic pop sound, and on The Beginning they prove they can keep pushing things forward while firmly grasping elements of the past.

Good bye old BEP :(

BEP used to be so good. They introduced me to hip hop with let's get it started. After that i bought elephunk, which i couldnt stop listening to. With hits like hey mama and where is the love. It is one of my favorite albums of all time. But as we know, times change and music changes, which is why BEP isnt the same today. They jumped on the bandwagon, and are all auto-tune singing now. The E.N.D. was tolerable because it had boom boom pow and i gotta feeling. But now, ill have to pretend this album never existed. Its clear to say, the BEP have sold out.

Ehhh, it's okay.

Sounds a lot like the old album. Same beats, just a little bit more techno-ey. Truthfully, I expected a little bit more. Sorry BEP.
