Ignore the wrong "Album Review" above: it's referring to a Curb-label CD of the same title [note how almost none of the songs it mentions are actually on the below CD]. Most of Ace Cannon's hits were on the Hi record label, so you can tell just from this CD cover photo that these are the right versions. And they're all here: "Blues [Stay Away From Me]", "Cottonfields", "Searchin'" and the full-length stereo original of "TUFF". Enjoy!


Despite what the album review says, this CD is NOT 1990s re-recordings of Cannon's hits. This CD is the only one I have found on iTunes which has the ORIGINAL version of "Tuff." All the others are subsequent re-recordings. GET THIS IF YOU WANT THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF 'TUFF."

One of Nashville's premier session men from the late '50s through the early '70s, alto saxophonist Ace Cannon began playing at the age of ten and signed with Sun Records during the early days of rock & roll. He performed with Billy Lee Riley and Brad Suggs but then in 1959 joined the original Bill Black Combo, recording for the Hi label.
