iTunes Review

In early 2002, Jay-Z and R. Kelly were at the top of their respective games. Jay's stranglehold on the rap industry had yet to be eclipsed by 50 Cent, and Kelly was still a few months away from being charged with multiple counts of child pornography. The reigning kings of hip-hop and R&B teaming up for an album was a no-brainer, and on paper it seemed destined to be a guaranteed smash hit. Unfortunately it didn't quite pan out that way, thanks mostly to surprisingly limited promotion (no videos or tour), which went from slim to non-existent once the R's legal problems exploded. While not exactly a career highlight for either one of them, it does sport plenty of entertainingly over-the-top sex rhymes, particularly on guilty pleasures such as "Take You Home With Me (A.K.A. Body)" and "Somebody's Girl." Veteran New York hitmakers the Trackmasters provide incessantly upbeat production on just about every track, with handclaps, freaky keyboards, and "Fiesta"-style acoustic guitar clips galore, while we also get treated to impressive cameos from XXX-rap specialist Lil Kim ("Shake Ya Body") and Houston humorist Devin the Dude ("P***y").

One of the best albums of all time

I don't know what these kids are talking about, this is straight up one of the best albums of all time. Jigga and Kelz always do it big, and there will never be anything done like this ever again.

Most Under-rated album

This album was over looked because of *ahem* kells drama. So they did not promote thats a dang shame to because it really knocks

Hate It or Love It... Or Both?

I really like Jay-Z but I'm not so sure about R. Kelly because I'm not a huge fan of R&B. This seems like a strange album to buy because it was never popular. Now it's old and NONE of these songs did and probably ever will play on the radio. However, you can't ignore Jay-Z and R-Kelly, especially if they're together. Anyway, the point is I bought the album. It has some good songs and some ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE songs. Buy the best songs if you are hardcore fans of either Jay-Z, R-Kelly, or both. Best songs are: Take You Home With Me The Streets Shake Ya Body Somebody's Girl Get This Money Honey Average songs are: Green Light Shorty Worst songs are: Break Up to Make Up It Ain't Personal Naked (This is the lamest thing I've ever had, listen to the 30-second clip!) P***y A lot of the songs are terrible, but a lot of them or good. Only 2 average songs. In conclusion, it's not as good as I hoped for from these two artists. A lot of people will probably hate this CD, but some might like it. For me, I hate it and love it. So unless you really know you'll like it and are totally sure, don't buy the whole CD. If you're in between like me, listen to the 30-second clip of the best songs and maybe purchase the one you liked the most. Hope the review was helpful. Au revoir!

Embodying the rags-to-riches rap dream, Jay-Z pulled himself up by his bootstraps as a youth to eventually become the reigning rapper of New York City and, in turn, a major-label executive following his short-lived retirement from music-making. In the wake of his 1996 debut, Reasonable Doubt, Jay-Z's albums sold millions upon millions with each release, and his endless parade of hits made him omnipresent on urban radio and video television. He retained a strongly devoted fan base and challenged whatever...
