Album Review

The first-ever compilation from the iconic American pop duo, The Best of Sonny & Cher was originally issued on vinyl in 1967 via Atlantic/ATCO Records. Bolstered by the hits "I Got You Babe," "Little Man," and "The Beat Goes On," the collection did not include the duo's first big hit, the Reprise-issued "Baby Don't Go." A far more comprehensive anthology, Beat Goes On: The Best of Sonny & Cher, was released through Rhino in 1991.

The Best of Sonny & Cher

This was my first album and I had to share it with my sister. We played the grooves right off the 33! Nice to see it on itunes. It really brings back great memories, and it still plays as good today as it did all of those many years ago. Made my day!

Possibly the best Sonny and Cher album out there

This is a great CD. I have the album, and I am SO glad that it is now part of the iTunes offerings. It is (and has been since the 70's) my fave Sonny & Cher album. You just can't find Beautiful Story and It's The Little Things anywhere else. Plus the early versions of The Beat Goes On and I Got You Babe - ALL these tunes really are classics!

Great 60'a All of Sonny and Chers singles from the 60's

This is a must for any Sonny and Cher fan, this has all the songs from the 60s that made them famous, I belive all songs were released as singles. A must for die hard Cher fans too.

Sonny & Cher proved one of the magical musical combinations of the mid-'60s and one of the better rock-influenced MOR acts of the early '70s, their wisecracking repartee providing counterpoint to a series of adoring hit duets. Salvatore "Sonny" Bono (born February 16, 1935) started out at Los Angeles-based Specialty Records as a songwriter in the late '50s, responsible for "Koko Joe" by Don & Dewey and "She Said Yeah" for Larry Williams, which was later covered by the Rolling Stones and the Righteous...
