Brilliant top to bottom

I listened to to this band way back in the '80's and loved them. I only had a crusty tape left (yes no cd's were available back then) which I have played to death, so thank you iTunes for making this available. This band emerged at the same time as many other groups in the UK trying to find their own unique sound, Simple Minds, Big Country even U2. They weren't a copycat band. Almost every song here is a gem. I love The Motive, Quiet Place, Muscle Deep, Big Area, Prairie Rose and the bonus of backup vocals by Belinda Carlisle on the towering What Does It Take? I am not so much a fan of some of the newer stuff but it's all good. If you liked the bands I listed above, you will love this little beauty.

lost in america

this band didn't make it in america, but it wasn't because they didn't have good songs. i remember seeing the video for the motive. it was my introduction to the band back when 120 minutes brought us cool, new music every sunday night. big area is also a very good song. the complete song title listed on my cd is "the motive (living without you)". just to be accurate. and i'm not sure why the price varies for 3 of the songs.

The group released a single, "The Big Sweep," on Immaculate Records in 1985, but made their first big splash...
