iTunes Review

Filled with haunting ballads and enthusiastically triumphant anthems, Sara Bareilles returns with The Blessed Unrest. She’s gotten help from a few all-star friends, including Jack Antonoff who lends his pop touch to the first single, "Brave." This album keeps with the easygoing, low-key appeal of her earlier work. An excellent taste is offered by the poignant, elegantly nostalgic ballad "Manhattan."

Good, but Katy Perry's Roar is better.
Sarah doesn't reach the high notes and the song isn't catchy. But Katy's is!

This is brilliant

I purchased the entire album the day it was released and as expected, I was not at all disappointed. This album is arguably better than her previous ones, and Manhattan may be the best song Sara has ever written. The harmonies she has incorporated in all of these songs is absolutely incredible and I am again drawn into every song as if by magic. Chasing the Sun, my personal favorite, is such an amazing, powerful, and hopeful song - directing us to always follow the sun and not get stuck in the darkness just gives a basic feel to the record, while Islands, 1000 Times and Manhattan give it the necessary sad love ballads that make the album so desirable to listen to along with all of the other 100% perfect tracks. Her voice is so powerful and incredible and I've never been happier with a purchase in my life!

great stuff

I admit that I was a little late to Sara's party. But I'm all caught up now. Compelling, engaging, soulful, and the perfect symmetry of original and formulaic song writing. She's a terrific musician and an astounding lyricist. If you're already fan, you'll be very happy with this stellar work.
