EDITORS’ NOTES

Following in the footsteps of fellow Internet rap icons like Lil Yachty and iLoveMakonnen, Ugly God’s debut mixtape is a playful, carefree affair that tackles trap music from a mellow and playfully juvenile perspective. “F**k Ugly God” sees him beating the haters to the punch with a string of hilariously self-deprecating disses, while on “Water” he effortlessly skates atop a minimal synth beat, rattling off aquatic metaphors with all the cheeky charisma of a class clown.
