EDITORS’ NOTES

The “hybrid theory” Linkin Park introduced back in 2000 has evolved. New sounds like "The Catalyst" have become more majestic, less tied to hip-hop, and exponentially more symphonic. The components that make Linkin Park one of today’s biggest rock bands — the piano-based heartbeat, the chainsaw-guitar roar, the synth and drum machine pyrotechnics, the Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington throat-shredding interplay — are magnified on its latest album, A Thousand Suns, co-produced by Rick Rubin and Mike Shinoda.

Maybe I’m in the minority here

This might possibly be my favorite album of all time by LP. Absolutely love “Waiting for the end” and “Iridescent.”

Worth listening to, but kind of lazy

The album is worth listening to for sure, and I would buy it in a hearbeat if I didn't have it, but it contains a lot of crap and redos of the same thing. A lot of lyrics are recycled from the third track, and there's a lot of tracks that aren't really songs, but more parts of a different song, which is great in small quantity, but not in the quantity that this provides. I reccomend this album for sure, but buy all of LINKIN PARK's other successes first, or just buy two or three songs off of this and call it a day. You can look at the popularity meters to determine what is a song and what's not. Two bars are non-songs, anything above is an actual song, just maybe not that popular.
