A Forgotten Classic Compilation

"The Christmas Album" was originally released as a 2-record set from Columbia Records for the 1971 holiday, the original gatefold sleeve featuring different artwork (Medieval typeface listing all the songs and artists). It was re-released on vinyl in 1984 with the new (current) artwork, but as a single album with only half the songs. Happily, when it was released to CD in 1987 the complete playlist was restored - but not quite complete on iTunes. The four missing songs are, in order: Andy Williams' "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" (Original Track 1); "Greensleeves" by the Ray Conniff Singers (Track 4); Barbra Streisand's "Jingle Bells?" (Track 11); and "O Little Town of Bethlehem" by Marty Robbins (Track 14.) I believe the Williams and Streisand songs are available on iTunes via other albums. The original vinyl, scratches and all, became a Christmastime staple in my house when I was growing up, and introduced me to many of these famous vocalists from the 1950s and '60s. I still listen to it every year.
