The FIRST PERSON to collaborate fully with L'Orange is Stik Figa - a great, unique choice to create a follow-up to THE MAD WRITER. Anything but A QUIET ROOM, "Blind Tiger", another term for a SPEAKEASY, has Stik Figa's clever raps smoothly over L'Orange's smooth production. Much like ALONE, you'll hear this and be itching for more. Similar elements in this track are the high-pitched, affected samples like in IMAGINARY FRIEND, which never takes away from the NOSTALGIA of the noir-infused, smooth jazz. The track isn't over-the-top-intense, maintaining A NICE PEACEFUL SCENE. As inviting as a FEMME FATALE, no one should be deterred by any element of this track's greatness.

WE CALL IT DESPAIR when an album disappoints. But this here is THE REAL MCCOY. It won't be THE DUST COLLECTOR. The City Under The City thrives in the STRANGER DAYS. Purchase this album or regret it.

As it is now, ive heard "Blind Tiger" and "Monochrome".... but if the rest of the album is anything like these 2....SMH,,,, possibly TOP 5 hiphop albums of all time in my eyes and ive been listening to hiphop for 25 years. I havent been this excited about an album since Wu-Tang Forever, thank god i dont have to wait much longer. Stik Figa rides L'Oranges beats like no other!! These 2 will be a force for years to come

First time I heard L'Orange I was laying in bed at night with my girlfriend; she goes to school 7 hours away from me so we really rarely see each other. I found his music on band camp a while back, and I had wanted to give him a listen for a while. I didn't know what to expect. I put on "The Manipulation EP". That first listen was one of the most beautiful experiences I've had with music in my life. My girl typically doesn't have the same taste in music as me, but I know she felt what I felt when listening to it. We layed there and listened to the whole EP. It put us into a this mellow, admiring state of mind. We both knew the ish was nice.. and that was the first and probably only time I felt like I shared a musical experience with her. Music is a huge part of my life and not so much hers, so that was important to me. L'Orange is dope. Real sh..

L'Orange is a North Carolina-born beatmaker with a penchant for sampling early jazz records and vintage radio broadcasts, lending a nostalgic, time-worn quality to his music. He started making music during the mid-2000s; after a stint as a recording engineer, he began releasing his own recordings in early 2011, starting with The Manipulation EP. Later in the year, he released Old Soul, an album that heavily sampled the music of Billie Holiday, whom L'Orange describes as his muse. EP Still Spinning...
