Typical actions…Mature reflections

Simple: It's the story of a girl who can't get her mind off of a guy she loves and will do whatever it takes to get him back to her. We've all heard it before, in different variations, with different actions and reactions. Liza Anne, however, delves a bit deeper, and has this capability to extract and clarify emotions through her lyrics and music. Some songs are catchy, but the album itself is interesting: it gets darker the more you delve into it. Each track shows another part of the story, another thought of him deemed unstoppable, another guy deemed incomparable, another bottle on the ground, until you reach the last three tracks, which I think brought a giant cannonball conclusion of emotions. The Colder Months as a single was magnificent, but in the context of the album….The feelings…
Liza Anne storms in with a beautiful disaster: a debut album carefully crafted to bring a story she is dying to tell, portrayed in such a way that anyone with ears will be able to understand, and relatable to anyone who has had a broken heart. The Colder Months may tug at your heart strings.
You've been warned.

I've heard a lot...

I've heard a LOT of music in my days (seen 3,500+ bands live, & owned almost as many CDs, cassettes, vinyl, & too many mp3s to count), & I've heard a LOT more of Liza than most have been blessed to through the years, & let me just say that this is magnificent - an artistic statement - a self-discovery of who's at the core of all of the other, otherwise magnificent work she's done to date. Fragile, passionate, & deeply moving, the title track alone is already my favorite song of 2014, & I can't imagine it easily being dislodged from that position any time soon. Buy this. Listen to it. Live with you. You'll be glad you did.

Emotional Amazement

OMG Liza. Gurl. You killed it. Every. Single. Track. These songs, these sounds speak right to my soul and the words tug at my heart. I'd love to go into a more gracious and well-thought out review but for now I'm just in awe of your pure talent. So proud.
