A modern day masterpiece

Noibaby83

The Dracula Letters is a stellar song cycle, crafted exquisitely with top notch musicians and the lovely soprano voice of Iris Malkin. I love the Parisian sounding, cabaret-influenced pieces as well as the hypnotic, uncluttered ballads on this album. I’m a long time fan of SJ Pettersson’s dreamlike, haunting, and simply beautiful melodies which engage the listener and transport them right into the story.

Stunningly beautiful

This music is stunningly beautiful. While the entire ensemble is achingly lovely, my personal favorites are "I'll Be Your Bride" and "Waltz of the Flies"… just gorgeous. S.J. Pettersson is such a talent. I'm giving this album as a holiday gift!

Smooth and mysterious

The tone is set right from the PROLOGUE, just before outstanding vocals step into the spotlight. DEAR MINA is one that has great backing vocals too. I got a ‘what’s written inside’ kind of feeling as I listened to LUCY’S DIARY – it’s got a mysterious appeal to it. WALTZ OF THE FLIES is a neat, spry number with wonderful arrangement while EPILOGUE -SEVEN YEARS AGO moves between dynamics oh so smoothly, bringing a great ending to a great record.
