iTunes Review

Lady Antebellum have never been country traditionalists. And it's with that forward-moving ethos that frontman Charles Kelley approaches his first solo album. One moment, he's striding through “Your Love” with a rocker’s confidence; the next, he’s tender and soulful on the laidback “Dancing Around It.” Dierks Bentley, Eric Paslay, and Stevie Nicks add harmonizing depth on a pair of gorgeous tunes, but it’s Kelley's surprises that offer the biggest thrills. “Lonely Girl,” with dance-y string flourishes, is playful and pop-friendly, and “Leaving Nashville” is a beautifully crafted meditation on the music industry that suggests an unknown road ahead.
