Great retrospective

The true genius of Rickie Lee Jones is in how her lyrics match with the melodies so perfectly. Every song has meaning and truth in the words. The music is flawless. RLJ is one of the best singer-songwriters out there. Her influence is so great that the number of wannabes is staggering (Edie Brickell, Jewell, Norah Jones to name a few). No one can compare to RLJ, she's absolutely the best at what she does. Listen to the words of Company, Skeletons, Coolsville, Easy Money, Last Chance Texaco - really any of the songs she has written and you will find a world you've never known. She's one of the all time best!

Rickie Lee Jones

Ms. Jones is an amazing artist. Ever since her Episode Number: 268    Season Num: 15    First Aired: Saturday October 7, 1989 in Saturday Night Live! Show ; her light has been shinning in front of me. Really, that's because Rickie In Love didn't do it for me, but the 3 songs she did in the show , made me aware that when music flows though her, it affects her like this was a black lady singing black songs, so much soul Rickie Lee Jones has!!! I could not find this video to buy it, but this will do for now....i love her.

Rickie Lee rules; ITunes drops the ball

I don't understand this partial album jive where you have to buy every cut. Come down from that and make this great album affordable!

From her 1979 debut onward, Rickie Lee Jones has proved to be an original, mixing beatnik-based poetic sensibilities with R&B, jazz, folk, and pop. Most of her commercial success came at the outset of her career, but a restless creative spirit -- combined with a stubborn refusal to fit comfortably into any one musical niche -- sealed her ultimate destiny as that of a highly regarded cult heroine. Jones was born on November 8, 1954, in Chicago, but the volatile relationship between her mother and...
