Customer Reviews

Listen to it on its own terms.

I was a fan of John & Mary before Natalie left the Maniacs. When Natalie left, I assumed Mary would step in as she had toured with the Maniacs and appeared on the MTV album. However, I think John & Mary are better as a duo than as part of the 2nd edition of 10,000 Maniacs. That being said, Mary has a lovely, quirky voice and there are some nice moments here. Give it a chance.

Good record

Some songs are boring but some are quite good. If you enjoy other maniacs records you'll enjoy this. Lyrically, Mary Ramsey doesn't seem to stay a relevant as Natalie Merchant, but musically this is just as solid as the other albums.

Not bad....different

I still think that this band would have survived if they had simply changed their name.....new singer, new band.....
