Customer Reviews

Retro and New

It reminds me a little of the Guilty days, with more of a sweet side. I love the Bee Gees and all of Mr. Gibb's collaborations, this collection is no exception to the rule-good tunes! Big Hair in Bensenville!

If A Demo Is All You Can Get

Actually, it is surprising that DEMOS are being sold on iTunes. However, if you have to buy quality DEMOS, Barry Gibb is the king. Its striking that the two most upbeat songs from this album, 'Eaten' Alive" and "Chain Reaction" are not here. "Crime Of Passion" fills the bill for good song craftmanship and "More And More" could not be more tailor fit for Diana Ross; it just oozes her personality. The remainder of the songs are MOR, but that's not entirely bad - just not perfect, which is what one expects from the likes of Barry Gibb.

A glimpse behind the curtain of genius

I do not pretend to be unbiased here. Barry Gibb's singing talent is surpassed only by his song writing gifts. The "Eaten Alive" demos focus the spotlight of attention squarely on the song's creator with no middle-man (ahem, women) to detract. No offense, Diana Ross... you were wise enough to hire the best to write for you, twice!

His flowing mane and otherworldly falsetto vocals were his calling cards, but his craft as a songwriter and the depth of his vocal abilities truly made him an icon. Born on the Isle of Man in 1946, Barry and his brothers, the twins Maurice and Robin, began playing music at an early age. After moving to Manchester, they formed...
